06/08/2006
Document management specialist Cull Micro Imaging has been awarded a contract with the government's purchasing and procurement agency - OGC Buying Solutions - to scan and store over 600 boxes of paper files, which is the equivalent of 3 double decker buses.
Cull Micro Imaging - whose clients already include Marks & Spencer, the Home Office and the University of Liverpool - has been employed to streamline OGC Buying Solutions' filing systems by scanning large volumes of files and implementing a new server based document management system.
The role of Buying Solutions - which has offices across the UK - is to deliver value for money to central government and other public sector bodies by negotiating deals from all its suppliers from IT support to catering.
Tricia Lowe at Buying Solutions, explained: "Due to the vast and varied nature of our work we have built up a large amount of paper-based files that were taking up valuable storage space and were becoming difficult to retrieve. But thanks to Cull Micro Imaging, missing documents will now be a thing of the past."
Cull's service will also include the installation and on going maintenance of a Scanfile document management system so that Buying Solutions can access files from their in-house servers from any of the Buying Solutions offices in the UK
