Gartner statistics show that a single document can cost as much as £15 to file. When you consider how many documents get filed every day, it becomes clear that this is no small matter.

Imagine a typical piece of incoming correspondence entering your company; it is distributed, dealt with by the relevant person, perhaps photocopied to share it, and then filed. What about the next time you need to look at it? You have to retrieve it and then re-file it.
